UK Triathlon and Cancer Research UK are proud to announce the launch of the CRUK Wave 2024. The CRUK Wave is aimed at encouraging more participants, of any age, gender or ability, to unite and take on a challenge for the purpose of funding life-saving research into all 200 types of cancer.

This change comes after the success of the UK Triathlon Pink Wave, it reflects the movement towards a more inclusive environment for all participants who want to complete a triathlon at their own speed, whilst raising money for life-saving research.

We want to encourage everyone to have a go! Any age, any ability, just get together for the camaraderie and challenge, whilst raising vital funds for research into beating cancer.

UK Triathlon will be donating £10 from every CRUK Wave entry back to Cancer Research UK.

Feedback

Firstly can a say a massive thank you to all your team and volunteers who where at the Cheshire triathlon in Nantwich yesterday

I had never been so frightened of anything than taking on this huge personal achievement, last April I had Breast care surgery for very early stage Breast cancer Now I was one of the lucky ones and got away almost scott free But for a Middle Ages overweight smoker it was time to change my life around So in February this year I started with some walking to try and loose weight and get a little bit fitter

So as you can see to complete the pink wave is something I am extremely proud of.

Your staff where absolutely amazing from the lady who a spoke when I registered just 3 weeks ago who convinced me I could do this for (I think her name was Jackie but I'm not sure ).

For everyone shouting encouragement to me on my ride to the lady at the finish line who I fell into her arms crying (sorry but the achievement and the emotion of the day just got to me). When she put that medal around my neck my friend and family where all crying with me she arranged photos and loads of them (Please can you advise how I get hold of these ).

Truly your staff are inspirational.

Thank you again and see you next year.

Joanne Thomas (race number 812)
