The UK Ultimate 1/2 Triathlon is our demanding and much sought-after 'half iron distance' event returning yet again to the beautiful Mere in Ellesmere, Shropshire.
This ultimate endurance challenge combines swimming, cycling, and running against a backdrop of stunning British landscapes, creating an exhilarating atmosphere filled with camaraderie and support.

The Ultimate 1/2 Triathlon offers a thrilling, "half-iron" distance challenge, beginning with a 1.2 mile swim in the calm, freshwater Mere. Athletes will be immersed in an exhilarating open-water experience, with spectators cheering from the shore.
Next, the 56 mile bike ride takes participants on a scenic yet demanding journey through the picturesque Shropshire countryside and parts of Wales. Smooth tarmac roads and breathtaking views make this segment both fast and beautiful.
Finally, the run offers a flat, fully tarmac course. With closed roads and cheering supporters, you'll push to the finish line, driven by the thrill of victory.

Swim course distance: 1 lap = 0.6mi
Ultimate Half & Ultimate Half Relay: 0.6mi lap x 2 laps = 1.2mi
Bike course distance: 1 lap = 28mi
Ultimate Half & Ultimate Half Relay: 28mi lap x 2 laps = 56mi
Run course distance: 1 lap = 4.36mi
Ultimate Half & Ultimate Half Relay: 4.36mi lap x 3 laps = 13.1mi

Full and up to date competitor race day information with your race number and start time will be emailed to you 7-10 days before the event. Please check spam/junk folders.
WE DO NOT POST ANYTHING OUT - you will collect your race numbers, stickers, etc. at registration on the day.

Choose your favourite discipline, then invite friends or teammates to join and complete your relay team.
(Age restrictions apply)
A relay team can consist of two or three people.
Each member of the relay team completes one or two of the three disciplines in the triathlon.
The swimmer completes the swim, then the swimmer passes the electronic chip to the cyclist inside the cycle transition area.
The cyclist completes the cycle course and passes the electronic chip to the runner in the transition area.
The runner completes the run and hands in the electronic chip at the finish line.
All team members can cross the finish line together and collect their medals.
We award first place in the Female Relay Event and first place in the Open/Mixed Category Relay Event.
All Open/Mixed Category teams can consist of two or three people, male or female.
Wetsuits for the Ultimate Half Triathlon and Ultimate Half Triathlon Relay are compulsory.
